I didn't say he had, but I completely disagree with your post and I honestly have no idea where you have got that from?

Doesn't mean the manager has 'lost' them though

Re: The Summer Signings
Not what I've heard at all kev, there seems to be splits in the dressing room between the English lads, the French speakers and the African speakers. This is one of the reasons why Slav sent them out for a team bonding meal awhile back.

Re: The Summer Signings
Slav hasn't 'lost' the dressing room. If anything it's the opposite.

All a but too chummy down there at the moment. Slav needs to kick a few backsides.

Re: The Summer Signings
So one minute you are impressed with all the signings based on their pedigree and reputation, but the second they don't work out then you assume that our scouts etc have no clue? perhaps our scouts were as impressed as you were and the players just haven' settled or adapted. tbh i trusted bilic on tore, but clearly the owners didn't. hence why was loaned. nordveit ive seen play for BM and he looked good, so im a bit baffled as to why he hasn't done better for us. feghouli i think has looked decent in patches, and ayew i am sure will impress more as the season goes on. zaza i never wanted and i think that was almost a last minute stop gap even though we had targeted him for the past two windows.

personally i think there has been too much tinkering by bilic at times, i honestly don't think he knows his best team. moving to the new stadium hasn't helped and the constant negativity around the club in the media isn't exactly a plus either. we've started to show recently that we can play better, and i think we'll see better from some of these players one we get into a rhythm and start winning a few games. i think too many players are lacking confidence at the moment.

Re: The Summer Signings
I dont think most were necessarily bad, theyve just under performed, as have many of the team we already had. Noble, Payet and Adrian being the standouts there.

Sniper do you think slavs lost the dressing room then ?

Don't think there's no easy fix in the January window. I think the only way we'd see some serious dough spent, was if a certain star player was offloaded.

Spot on.

I reckon that whoever made our summer signings rather than using Southampton's Black Box used Football Manager as a scouting tool instead because Zaza, Tore, Nordtveit and Feghouli are down as pretty useful in it !!!

we will be relegated. Seen it before haven't we.

It didn't help that despite our early start to the season...the team looked completrly unfit ...unmotivated and tactically clueless for many games...

All down to Bilic and staff...

Re: The Summer Signings
When the window closed in the summer I was really pleased with the business we'd done, aside from selling Tomkins. In feghouli and tore it seemed like we'd brought in highly rated experienced internationals who'd played champions league football, in positions we were lacking cover last season. I knew nothing of nortveildt but again seemed to have a decent reputation at a good league. Fletcher looked like a talent and impressed in ore season, calleri a sort of attempt to replicate the success of lanzini. We brought in a new left back that we desperately needed and thengitba forward who'd impressed in a poor Swansea team (and the price is nonsense as inter-premier league prices are obscene) and then finally got the international forward from champions of a foreign league that we'd been looking for.

My main concern was not signing a proven right back as byram is very attacking and still learning

But god knows what our scouts were up to. It's like the daves just play football manager, wheeler dealing with random pampers and hoping for success. Musuaku aside, they've all been crap. Really crap. There's an excellent article on the BBC site right now explaining Southampton 'black box' database they use to find replacement players. It's how radical was on their radar as soon as they realised lallana was attracting interest. It's how they replace their managers with someone who fits. We just seemed to go for numbers perhaps because we assumed we'd make the Europa league and needed extra bodies, but that's where the youth team should step in.

So al I can assume is either we had no real idea who we were signing or bilic has lost it and has no idea how to get these players performing, because half the team looks like they've never met before or seen a football. And tactically it's not isolated to this season - we were pants at the end of last season too, unable to defend leads or keep clean sheets.

Infuriatingly we missed out on good value signings too - redmond, Townsend, Allen, Ibe would have all improved us with premier league experience. Watford got pereya. Boro got negredo. Benteke was a controversial but plausible option who surely would have preferred us to palace. But we went for freebies and loans and aimlessly offering deals to bigger players who had no interest in joining us. It was nonsense.

January needs to wipe the slate clean - try to save face and cancel the loans, and try to buy players who will actually improve us. Frankly 14th would be an achievement this year. We look utterly clueless

What they do with the manager, I don't know - depends what's going on behind closed doors but I always think once a manager has lost a dressing room that's it.

grasshopper

you banging on about the loans? you'd honestly have been happier if we had bought zaza, tore and calleri wouldn't you? and if feghouli and nordveit had been in contract and cost a transfer fee lol

grasshopper 12:13 Tue Nov 22
Re: The Summer Signings
Just face facts that so long as we have sullivan and gold we will have little or no ambition in the transfer market and most importantly we will have the regular loan to buy and free garbage every year. Just remember to go along with the story how they saved us and set ur expectations as low as possible. If we are lucky this year we wont get relegated

Re: The Summer Signings
Sounds about right Chelmsford seeing as giroud has been injured for half the season, he'd have been a perfect fit!

Chelsea couldn't afford Lukaku at 70m in the summer...

Trevor B 11:46 Tue Nov 22
Re: The Summer Signings
I think you're right chelmsford, if we had had a better start to the season i think he might have been a poss in january seeing as he has only appeared 6 times in the league, all from the bench.

chelmsfordhammer 11:41 Tue Nov 22
Re: The Summer Signings
We should have gone all out to get giroud, no idea whether hed have come or not but I think we'd have had more chance with him than lukaku.

Trevor B 11:38 Tue Nov 22
Re: The Summer Signings
I can't disagree more. I think he would only have left Everton for a bigger club, a team that could offer CL football. I'm not sure London is that big of a draw to anyone any more, as for ambitions? Really? I think Everton have shown more ambition this summer than we have. Sorry penners but you need to take off those claret and blue glasses. I honestly cannot see any reason why Lukaku would have seen us as a move up in his career.

penners28 11:33 Tue Nov 22
Re: The Summer Signings
Im just expessing an opinion. In my opinion, IF we'd have chicked the money at everton theyd have sold and he'd possibly would have come. New stadium, team in london, big ambitions etc

I thought the whole move was to move to the next step?
